Terms & Conditions for Entry to EGB Rides and Events
All rides are organised under Endurance GB rules, which the rider must agree to observe.
All riders must abide by the Endurance GB Rules as set out in the current Member’s Handbook. A copy of these rules will be supplied annually to existing members and as part of the Membership Pack sent to new members, or can be obtained from Central Office at a cost of £5 including postage

It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that all information provided in the ride entry form is correct to the best of their knowledge.
If payment is made using a debit card no surcharge will be made.
If payment is made using a credit card a surcharge of 2.5% of the total will be made, this charge is non refundable.
If a rider withdraws prior to the ride close date all entry fees will be refunded automatically, however the credit card surcharge is not refundable.
If a rider withdraws after the ride close date and before vetting, authorisation of the refund is dependent on proof being supplied to the Ride Secretary, credit card charges will not be refunded. For more details see making an entry
A hard hat must be worn with the chinstrap securely fastened and must be of standard British PAS 015: 1998 or 2011 provided it is BSI Kite marked; European VG1 01.040: 2014-12 provided it is BSI Kite marked; American ASTM F1163: 2004a or 04a onwards provided it is SEI marked SNELL E2001, Australian and New Zealand AS/NZS 3838: 2006 onwards provided it is SAI global marked.
If riding footwear without a heel is worn, a suitable caged front to the stirrup must be fitted.
Competitors may not ride in Wellington Boots.
Whips may not exceed 75cm in length. Whips are not permitted in National Competitive Endurance Rides (CERs) from the last vet gate, and in all FEI classes.
Spurs are not permitted in any circumstances.
All Stallions must wear a blue tail ribbon and bridle discs. (these are supplied by EGB when the stallion is registered or can be purchased from EGB online shop).
RED ribbons should be used if your horse is nervous of other horses coming up behind
GREEN ribbons should be used if you or your horse is novice.
Save for death or personal injury caused by negligence, neither the organising committee of the ride, nor Endurance GB, accept any liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.
The rider must agree to understand that riding is a risk sport and will only compete if fit and competent to undertake the class entered, by ticking the relevant box on the entry form.
There may be a photographer in attendance. In order for any prints to be sent directly to you, the ride organiser will provide your / your child’s name, and address to the photographer. Please tick the box on the entry form if you do NOT wish to receive prints.
The qualification status displayed on the online entry form against each class reflects the current rider & horse levels held on the EGB membership database. If the current status is not up to date (due to qualifying rides recently completed) then an entry may still be made but it is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the ride secretary can validate the qualifications on arrival.
Horse flu vaccination certificate
Some rides require a valid horse flu vaccination certificate. The rider must confirm that a photocopy of the certificate will be sent to the ride secretary. The entry will not be accepted until the copy is received.
Additional Information Requested
Some rides require additional information (e.g. Golden Horseshoe) The rider must send this to the ride secretary. The entry will not be accepted until all information is received.
For riders under the age of 18 confirmation is required that the parent’s or guardian's consent to the ride entry has been provided, by entering the name of the parent or guardian.
For Junior riders (under the age of 13), riding at Novice level, an adult must accompany them on the ride. The name of the accompanying adult must be entered, and confirmation provided of the named adult's consent to accompany the rider.
Note that age is calculated for the date of the ride – not 1st January.
