Plumpton Pleasure Ride (non vetted)

Ride DetailsSunday 22nd July 2018

Description:

Another stunning downland ride with fabulous views and wonderful turf going on top of the downs.  The ride starts from the spacious venue of Plumpton Racecourse,  with around 7km of bridleways and quiet lanes for a warm-up, followed by a climb onto the South Downs. The longer ride has some nice canters before returning along the South Downs Way, while the shorter ride has a good canter opportunity near the end of the South Downs Way, just before starting the descent down via bridleways back to the racecourse.

Scrumptious light refreshments are a feature of this ride – homemade treats with tea/coffee – donations for EGB SE requested.  There are ‘proper’ loos and even showers!  We hope to have a photographer in attendance on the Downs.

Venue:  Plumpton Racecourse, Plumpton, East Sussex BN7 3AL

The postcode for Plumpton Racecourse is BN7 3AL. Please do not use the main entrance, but enter/exit using the North Gate (near the level crossing). Please then follow the tarmac track until the end of the white rails, then turn left across the grass towards the buildings in the centre of the racecourse.
