May 2018: Spotlight on.... Abi Gant

08 Jun 2018

Abi Gant is one of our Novice Level Spotlight Scholars. She introduces herself in this blog:

"As this will be my first of hopefully many blogs to come, I would like to take the chance to introduce myself and my pony Bertie. Bertie and I have been doing endurance for two years now and he really is my pony of a lifetime! Having taken on loan a very weedy six year old I am completed flawed by this pony's progress every day and continues to amaze me. Bertie and I are hoping to make the jump and upgrade to open with the view being to complete an 80km ride this year at some point! Although it's a busy time currently with my A levels drawing ever closer Bertie and I have been out to the Hardys ride for a 36km ride which he achieved a grade 4 after the last few hills surprising him with not quite enough fuel left in the tank after towing me round at 15kmph at the beginning! Bertie has also been busy going drag hunting earlier on this year and practicing his jumping ahead of a possible foray into showing or hunter trials later on this year. Amidst all this fun and games Bert and I have been having, I have been trying to revise for my Pony Club AH test (Bertie doesn't know he's got a lot of lunging and ride and lead practicing ahead of him) as well as those all important exams - let me tel you, endurance is a lot more fun!
