The beautiful thing about endurance riding is that you can set your own personal goals. Many of our members have achieved their goals in the face of significant personal challenges, and have found that the support, friendship and camaraderie within the sport are quite literally a lifesaver. Peter Wilkes, a well known managing-director of leading equestrian products, took up a new challenge by taking part in the 40km ride at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. This was the second ridden equestrian challenge Peter has taken on in his mission to raise funds for the Air Ambulance and Royal Drawing School.
As Peter is a very novice rider he completed the ride Hors Concours and under close supervision, setting off after the other riders had started. He had a great deal of support and assistance from the Chadwick and Cowperthwaite families. Read his account of the ride.
