What accommodation and catering is available at the Venue?

The following catering and accommodation is available at the venue:

  • B&B and evening meals at the Neuadd Henllan Residential Centre on the venue
  • Camping at the venue for riders and crew (shower and toilet blocks available)
  • Hollywood Hotstuff for meals and snacks "on the hoof" during the day

Please scroll down for more information on all of the above.

A new extension / conservatory has been built on the front of the Residential Centre.  The dining area is now much bigger and a lounge / bar has been added.  The patio area has also been improved.  Click here to see some photos, or go to "More Info" on the menu bar.

Accommodation at the Venue

Sadly the accommodation at the Neuadd Henllan is fully booked.  There may be some rooms released about two weeks before the event, so keep an eye open for a "newsflash" on the home page nearer the time.  Beverages and evening meals are still available (see below).

Camping

All camping at the venue is available free of charge for the rider and crew provided that stabling has been booked for your horse, but only for the same number of nights.  Please see the Entry, Stabling, Corralling and Camping Fees under the "Ride Info" menu item for the stabling charges.

Toilet and shower blocks are available free of charge for all riders and crews for the duration of event.

Food at the Showground

Beverages and meals in the evening

We are making a two course meal available for Friday and Saturday nights between 6.00pm and 8.30pm in the International Centre on the Showground.  Wine and beer will also be on sale at the bar in the International Centre from 6.00pm until 10.00pm.

Here is a sample menu (which may vary according to availability):

Friday:

Vegetable Crumble

Chicken Curry

Steak and Ale Pie

All served with salad, chips and / or rice.

Saturday:

Vegetable Lasagne

Sweet & Sour Chicken

Thai Prawn Curry

All served with salad, chips and / or rice.

Pudding on both days:- B&B Pudding, Cheesecake and Apple Pie (all with cream).

Gluten free meals are available but please request these well in advance by emailing us at john.hudson@ludomino.co.uk

Meal tickets at £15.00 each or £8.50 for children under 10 years old.  Meal tickets can be purchased in advance only with your entry (not on the day) and should be collected by requesting them from the ride office.

If you are entering the ride online, then you should pay for the required number of meal tickets by entering the correct amount in the “Other Fee” box in the Stabling, Accommodation and Other Charges section of the online entry form.  Please also specify the number of tickets needed for each night in the “Comments” box in the online entry form.  If you are entering by post, then please enclose a note to indicate the number of tickets for each night.   In both cases please make clear the number required for children (if any).

Bar in the Ride Office (Hafod A Hendre Building)

There will also be a bar open in the main office building (Hafod A Hendre) from 17.00 to 23.00 on Friday and Saturday; 14:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.

Hollywood Hotstuff - beverages and meals during the day

Hot and cold food, beverages and cakes are being provided by Hollywood Hotstuff.  Breakfast will also be available.  Look out for their distinctive mobile cuisine machine at Builth Wells and leave your sandwiches at home!  Wholesome food, hygienically prepared, at reasonable prices.

Here is a sample of what is available:

Baked Potatoes with Tuna, Cheese or Beans are now standard on the menu.

Chicken Tikka with Chips and Naan Bread as a special

Lasagne with Chips and Garlic Bread as a special.

Might also do a roast on the Sunday. Probably Beef, Yorkshire Puddings, Roast Potatoes Vegetables.

Will add Vegetarian equivalents as well -  Quorn Tikka, Veggie Lasagne,

Nut Roast

There won't be huge amounts of each but it does make it more interesting!!

  • The Severn Stars, Aberedw (recently re-opened, no website yet but phone 01982 560445)
