|Description||This is a stunning ‘old fashioned’ endurance ride on the edge of Nidderdale. Day one heads south towards Fewston Reservoir, and day two heads north west towards Appletreewick, over an area of outstanding natural beauty. The route covers private land with mown grassy headlands, ancient byway over open moorland, shooting tracks, bridleways, green lanes, permissive forestry tracks and some quiet roads. It is hilly, and a challenge, but there is enough good going to make up for the bits where you have to take your time.
‘Warts and all’ pictures of the route are available on the website. Where possible, water and sloshes will be available on course for crewless riders.
Please note that because of the exposed nature of some of the route, an alternative route may be offered in case of very severe weather.
Approx 20% roadwork, mostly with useable verges

This ride aims to answer that age old long disputed question: Which side of t’Pennines is the ‘right’ side? Everyone who enters this ride will need to decide whether they are riding for the ‘House of York’ or the ‘House of Lancaster’. At the end of the weekend, all the distances ridden and the grades achieved will be added up and either Yorkshire or Lancashire will be victorious. Helpers will also be awarded points for their chosen army, so if you cannot ride, come and help! The House of York have won for the last four years, so can the Lancastrians do better this year? Please state which army you are riding for on your entry form.
There will be other special individual and team awards over the weekend, please check the website
Please note this ride will probably have to take a holiday for a couple of years after this year, due to major re-routing of the A59. So don't miss out, come and join us for a beautiful Yorkshire weekend.
